Treatment of the Chinese

Tse Tsu Shau, lato. Chiuese adviser and interpreter on the East Rand Mines, has written to the Chronicle alleging that most of the Chinese were enticed to the Rand under false pretences. They are, he says, insufficiently fed, and are paid less than Kaffirs, and they are often cruelly sjamboked.
