" A blunder " has been defined to* be worse than " a crime," and it would appear that a certain charge brought by Mr Fisher against Captain Seddon is a blunder. Our Parliamentary correspondent declares that this blunder is a death-blow to the New Liberal party; it certainly is a set-back. Neither Mr Taylor nor Mr Fisher are men who are easily killed ; but the mistake made by the latter discredits the party. This little storm will clear the air for a while, and there will, probably, be no further question, concerning Ministerial memos at the present time. The attack of the New Liberals, for the time being, has failed, and public sympathy is with the Premier. The spirit which prompted the attack will survive, but next time the New Liberal party makes a foray it will be much more careful about the, evidence which it brings forward.
