London, Last Night.

The Daily Mail's Niuchwang correspondent reports that the Japanese Artillery ambushed General E.ondratovitch's force, numbering eight thousand, from Wafangkau in a ravine, nine miles to the south-east of Kaiping.

Russian, correspondents admit that the Japanese are adapts in turning positions and concentrating at points where least expected. They declare that the Russians were overwhelmingly outnumbered at Telesze.

They accuse the Chinese of signalling to the Japanese throughout the battle, by means of mirrors fixed on long poles.

All the reserve officers in the Warsaw district have been summoned for active service.
