Official Delay in Erection.
Strong Appeal to Minister of
Lands
(By Telegraph — Press Association). Palmerston N., This Day. Mr J. G. Wilson, Colonial President of the N.Z. Farmers' Union, has addressed a letter to the Minister of Lands deploring the delay which has taken place in .he erection of bone sterilising works in the Colony, _ He pointed out the indignation th*ris felt by the farming community, and the apparent disregard of -the public safety. He considered tho Government should be held responsible for any further outbreak of anthrax. The necessity for the importation of ■bones to certain parts of the Colony is admitted, but it is held that to ensure ' the safety of stock and those attending '■* it. The further importation of bones should be absolutely prohibited until they can be treated at the sterilising works.
