ANOTHER SEVERE HAILSTORM IN SOUTH CANTERBURY.

A Destructive Visitation.

{By Telegraph — Press Association), Timaru, This Day.

A severe hailstorm passed over the district west of Geraldine on Saturday, doing considerable damage. Hailstones the size of hen's eggs fall and penetrated galvanised iron roofs, cut the heads of the grain off, and destroyed the fruit. Cattle, in a terrified state, rushed wildly about the paddocks. The windows of houses were broken, and a man, who was struck on the head with a hailstone, was rendered unconscious.
