Captain of a Schooner Drowned

The auxiliary schooner Emma Sims, when attempting to enter the river this morning, was struck by a heavy sea, which came aboard, disabling the tiller, and washing Captain Darragh overboard, also severely injuring the man at the wheel.

The vessel, being disabled, carno broadside on to the waves, and was stranded on the north beach. The vessel is not damaged. Tho captain, after swimming a quarter of a mile, was drowned about a similar distance from the shore. Ho was married only six months ago.
