At Addington, on Wednesday, the re> port was as follows:—
Fat cattle—Beef averaged from 27s to 30s per lOOlbs, but in a few instances the latter price was exceeded. Steers, £6 17s 6d to J512 15s; heifers, £5 17s 6d to __9 153; extra prime, £11 ss; cows, JES 10s to £9 ; extra prime, j£lo 15s.
Fat sheep—Freezing wethers, 18s to 255; merinos for freezing, 17s 6d; butchers', 14s 9d ; wethers and ewes, 16s to 228 3d ; freezing ewes (aged), 12s lOd to 17s; young ewes, 17s 6d to 235; butchers' ewes, 12s 3d to 225.
Fat lambs—Tegs, 17s 3d to 255; extra heavy, 30s; freezers, 13s to 17s; butchers' 12s to 18s 6d.
Pigs—Choppers, £3 to £5 ; baconers, 45s to 565, equal- to 4|d to 5d per lb; porkers, 80s to 425, equal to s_d to 6d per lb.
The present week's prices current are :— Wheat, 4s 3d; oats, 2s; barley, 3s; maize, 43; flour, £1110s (for sacks) j straw chaff, 30s ; oaten sheaf, "15s ; pollard, £7 10s; bran, £5 10s; potatoes, £3; grass seeds: rye, Hawke's Bay, 5s 9d to 6s; Southern, 4a 6d to 4s 9d. Butter, Bd, factory 10d to lid; eggs, Is Gd; cheese, 6d, These prices are wholesale buying, and apply to this district only, unless otherwise stated.
