The monthly meeting took place on Saturday, Mr W. B. Mathieson in chair. wB Two new members were elected. **.
llesolved to fix the date of the show at next meeting.
Mr J. Carter's notice of motion to remove ragwort from the schedule of noxious weeds, evoked considerable discussion. On being put to the meeting, it was lost.
Mr Yon Reden said it would be useless to read any report on the valuations, as owing to the short notice given by the Government, the time for objecting was passed.
Eesolvcd that the Union lodge a strong objection to the Department against the very short notice given to the people to object to their valuation.
A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Chairman for his services as conference delegate at Palmerston.
Resolved to ask the Government to allocate a bull of Shorthorn dairy strain to this district.
Resolved that Mr Burton, yeterinary surgeon, be asked if the fees for his proposed lectures are at the disposal of this district if they provide a room and anything necessary. _, llesolved that the Union is in of the Government Stud Bill, as it specifies the hereditary diseases in the schedule and considers a Bill of that kind is necessary to improve tbe breed of horses in New Zealand.
