Tho wicket had bocomo very difficult. Clode added three, and thon lost Brookwoll, who was stumped by Carter. 8 for 111. Tho remaining wickets foil without any addition to tho score, Clodo boing caught at midon, aud Eichardson at mid-oIT, from a skyer, both by Duff, off Saundors, who took tho last four wickets without a run being scored off him.
As there was no clianco of finishing the match, Australia sent tho " tail " in. Howoll and Saundors put together eight, when tho partnership ended, Howell sending a skier from Clode to Gowor at third man.
