The coastal steamer St. Pierre has j arrived at Noumea with three deaths | aboard owing to the plague, two I Toukinese and one Arab. Owingtothe plague outbreak business in Noumea lies been suspended,.but tho alarm is now subsiding. Extraordinary measures are being taken to prevent the . spread Of tbe plague; government and other buildings being pulled - down. ■ Numbers of rats found dead in the infected districts are supposed to have been affected with the plague, (Received December 30,0.40 a.m.) San Francisco, December 30. 3 The bubonic plaijne bas, now broken out in the island of Hftlvaii; ■ ono of the stopping-places for the colonial mail boats.
