A fire occurred in Wellington street., this morning, destroying the: shop occupied by' Mr M'Namara, grocer, and two cottages occupied' 1 by Messrs, John Mallett and William. Robertson, all belonging to Mr James Lyelli The fire ' originated' in the shop. The insurance on the buildings is J825 in the South British,.'and on- .the stock and furniture £3OO in the Eoyal. A RAILWAY STATION BURNED DOWN. (Press Association.) Christchurch, September 29. . The railway station" at Darfield, -on the Malvern line, was burned down at 2,80 this morning, The cash only was,saved. The cause of the fire is not iyet known.
