INSPECTOR OF NOISANCES REPORT,

I beg to report that a notice was sent to Mr Drummond on December Bth, 1879, to clear out about four chains of the creek 1 running through his property adjoining Mr, R Donald's property, as the creek is so much choked with weeds, creating a nuisance. Mr Drummond states he does not intend to clean the creek, and that the same would be a dry one provided the Council did not drain into it, and the creek would not be offensive to anyone. He has no objection, however, to let the Council clear it out themselves. I have communicated with Messrs Renall and Capper, members of the Works Committee, and expect someone will soon be set on to clear it out. I think if about two chains were cleared it would be sufficient.—l am, &c.,
