L ADVERTISEMENT.] To the Editor of the Wairahapa Daily Sir—Will you kindly insert the following for me:—l have been working for Mr King, the County Engineer, for 53 days and a half, at the rate of 9s per day. On the 28th of July I received £2O, leaving a balance of £4 Is Cd. I have been asking Mr King for the said balance on several occasions, but have always received the same answer: " I will not pay it, as my time-keeper has not given the above stated time." I must inform you that the said time-keeper was only on the ground for about 12 days out of 53|, and cannot therefore know how many clays any of the men worked. Would any of your subscribers kindly inform me how to get the remainder of my wages, as I am only a poor man,— lam, &c, Joseph Williams.
