NO. 6 WARD.
To the Editor of the Wamarapa Daily. Sir,—Befoie Mr Thomas Hitchings took upon himself the responsibility of appearing in print in the columns of your paper, he should have made a more careful perusal of my letter of the 9tli of June last. I am surprised that Mr Thomas Hitchings, whose qualifications, no doubt, justified his election to the important oificc of chairman at the meeting of ratepayers recently held in No, G Ward, should have ventured so far out of his way, in an endeavor to make it appear I had made a statement in reference to a resolution passed at that meeting, requesting me to resign the position of Warden. ■ The " statement" is the manufacture of Mr Hitchings' brain alone, and I should recommend him to take out a patent for it, so that he may derive whateyer benefit is likely to accrue therefrom. It is sufficient for me to say, that in my letter of the 9th inst., there is not even the faintest suspicion of any allusion to the resolution passed at the meeting requesting me ta resign the Wardenship.— I am, &c., P. G. Moore.
