A MUCH NEEDED REFORM.

A ladies' club lias been commenced in Warsaw, Poland, having for its object the diminution of extravagancein female dress. Ladies of the highest rank are amongst its most ardent supporters, one and all pledging themselves to obey tho rules of the society, which enforces £5 to bo the highest sum expended on a walking dress, £lO to be the limit of an evening toilette, and 30s, to be held as a sufficient sum to be'expended on a bonnet. No dress to be discarded until absolutely shabby, is one among tlio many good rules iixod, and when we find that a general meeting is held quarterly, at which every member must be able to declare truthfully that she owes no dressmaking bills, we can readily imagine how delightful it will be to tho heart of the dressmaker and milliner to know that her customers are members of a club with such laudable views. Economy is not the only goal for which they work, the higher education is not forgotten, for when the general meeting is held, not only must its member have paid bills, but they must have done something towards the improvement of their minds, What a boon to, husbands and fathers if the example of the Warsaw ladies were followed generally, and the result the reduction of the number of silly women whoso god is their dress, and dressmaking their only thought.
