CASTLE POINT HIGHWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the above Board was held at Tinui on Saturday last.' PresentMessrs Butters (Chairman) Groves, Ken-rick,-and Belliss. The minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed-. The Treasurer reported balance in Bank £135018s sd, and balance available for future expenditure £52119 a 7d. The overseer's report and wages bill were handed, in and read. . The following correspondence was then read : Letter from Mr R. Wilsone, with resolution from the County Council on the subject of roads. Letter frorii Mr W. Johnston respecting the Wliakatftlri-Castlo Point lino of road. Letter from Mr Beere with account for correcting tracery of the district. . Letter from the Chief Surveyor respecting.the correction of the tracing, of the district. Letter from Mr' Wingate requesting assistance towards the' erection of a bridge over tho Whareama at Manawa, Letter from the Land Tax Commissioner requesting to be furnished with a copy of the Valuation List..
. Mr Lahgdori requestixig.' permission, to' oxtciul. of .the Public' Hall two feet on tho jbadway. ' from Mr 11, Wilsone, stating tliiit the sum' of: £172 8?;-8d .had' been placed to tho credit of . the Board by the 'County Coitacil." Tho following resolutions were then passed:— That the Clerk acknowledge the receipt of resolution from County Council. ' That the Chairman communicate with Mr_W. Johnston respecting -the AVliakataki Castle Point line of road. That the Collector take immediate steps towards the collection of outstanding rates. . / • - That Mi' Wingate be informed that his application will bo considered at next meeting. That Mr Langdon's request be granted. That the following accounts be passed and paid : . ' £ s, d. J. W. Baker, salary and men's wages . 3G 2 6 R.
