The Waimate Auction Company I will sell in their yards bn. Saturday at 2 p.m. household furniture, linen and bedding, tent and fly etc. In his report to the South Canterbury Power Board, the engineer stated that the canvassing for consumers in the south end of Waimate County had been most successful, there being 46 pole miles already guaranteed and in hand for construction. A further 42 pole miles had been investigated, on which the canvasser was making good progress, and except for the last four miles to Glenavy, the engineer was confident that the whole would be guaranteed in the very near future. The' only section that was hanging fire for the time being was Studholme Junction Road.; this was holding up another seven pole miles towards the coast. It was practically assured that the Board’s reticulation would reach the Waitaki within the next few months. Just published is the December issue of “Aussie” and in it we see the leading humorous writers and artists of Australia and New Zealand holding another big celebration of the glad season. It is hard to individualise in any issue of “Aussie” and still harder to do so in this December issue for everything is so bright and clever whether it be in picture, story or verse. It is equally hard to imagine how so many new jokes and stories could be built in the Christmas season but Aussie” does it in its characterise tie spirit of freshness and originality. Xmas seems to Us brighter in the light of laughter in this December “Aussie.” Perfume Sprays in large variety 3/9 to 18/6,, smelling salts bottles 2/6 to 8/6, with silver mount.
