TO-NIGHT AND TUESDAY. “DUWY." —Constance' Talmadge.—■ Dulcy was a dumb-bell and knew it. She didn’t need her examination papers, as she sped westward on the transcontinental, for evidence, so she threw them out of the window and a nice young man on the rear observation platform caught one of the -beets. When Dulcy’s maid called her by name he recognized the owner of the paper; Dulcy left the train at Pasadena with a reluctant sigh at the sight of the attractive young man. Later on she smiled when he showed up,, and was introduced as Gordon Smith oil broker. Dulcy mixes up some stocks in a clever way, but Mr Smith comes to her rescue. The wedding is quite an elaborate affair.

Forbes is trying to put over a deaij that necessitates his endeavouring to get Gyrdon in, Forbes’ proposition is unacceptable to Gordan, Gordon manages to keep his standing with Forbes in spite of Dulcy’s help. As “influence” Dulcy gives a house party that includes Vincent Leach, freak scenarist; Schuyler Van Dyke, Gotham millionaire, and others. Dul cy wants to pr omote an elopement between Angela and Leach, and succeeds to the textent of destroying Forbes’ good nature Gordon who had been away interviewing other stockbrokers on the matter, returns just in time to view the ruins of his prospective scheme. Afterwards Gordon, learns that Van L'yke is an escaped lunatic with a mania for posing as a millionaire. Even the elopement was a success because it was Billy who really married Angela, and Dulcy can considerherself a pretty good home and business general.

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY: “ARE YOU A FAILURE?” “If you can’t be good, be careful,” may be a good motto for some folks, but to Oliver Wendell Blaine, the closely guarded ward of two exceedingly cautious and fearful maiden aunts, the slogan sounds worse than Chinese music. His resentment of it forms the basis for one of the seaton's fastest comedy thrillers, “Are you a failure?” A Master Picture to be seen, at the Arcadia Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday and it ieads him through a small town into a river log-jam and involves him in one of the most unusual fights ever filmed: Lloyd Hughes who had a leading role in “Mother O’ Mine” and “Tess” has the leading role in ‘.his one. With him is Madge Bellamy, who starred in “Lorna. Doone.’’ Also screening the only official film cf Archbishop Redwood’s Jubilee Celebration held in Wellington last month ; also splendid supports.
