The Berlin correspondent ol the "Daily Chronicle states that all worsen and girls, including typists and secretaries, who are members of the British Government stairs at the Un. bassy and Consulates have been advised to leave Germany and return to England. The reasons given are the dangerous possibilities of the political situation, food shortage and the high cost of living, a hitch likely to cause disorders, and the difficulties arising out of. the currency chaos. LONDON, November 19. The Berlin correspondent -of tile “Daily Chronicle” says that Dr. Streseinann on Sunday evening made in important speech to the members of the People's Party. He said that France was threatening new sanctions on a< count of the return of the Crown Prince. The German Government, he said, will reject any demand for his. extradition. Cabinet has decided to expose the country to fresh brutalities, rather than lay itself open to the reproach of compelling this German subject to remain in a foreign country away from his family. BERLIN, November 17. A regular battle between Separatists and armed peasants took place near Neuwied yesterday. It was renewed this morning, and resulted in twentyfour being killed, mostly Separatists, and over sixty injured. A company of occupation troops ultimately disarmed 1000 Separatists and pursued the anti-Separatists. LONDON November 19. Tliei Paris correspondent of the “Morning Post” says the move ol Stinnes and his fellow magnates, ordering the closing of certain of their concerns at the end of the month, to force the French authorities to permit them to extend the working day to ten hours, received a prompt reply from General Degoutte, who issued a decree forbidding wholesale dismissals, under a penalty of five years’ imprisonment. This applies to all undertakings in the Ruhr, employing more than five hundred workers The Stinnes threat meant that nearly a million would be thrown out of work. The French claim that the Stinnes colleries are showing a profit of over 100 pet cent., out of which the industrial magnates can well afford to pay 40 per cent for reparations.
