CHINESE COMPETITION IN FURNITURE TRADE.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER OF LABOUR. PKIt PRESS ASSOCIATION-—COPYRIGHT WELLINGTON, Juno 26. Mr. Moriarty, secretary of tho Furniture 'Workers’ Union, stated that despite denials, there was undoubtedly cause for alarm as to the possibility of Chinese competition in the furniture trade. Mr. .Moriarty said lie had facts which showed him that Chinese capital is likely to ho invested in New Zealand in consequence of the unsettled state cf China.
Mr. Mbriarty proposes joint action by the employers and the workers to get legislation passed on the lines ol tlmt in Wostorn Australia.
