MASS MEETING IN GREY. GREYMOITTH, Jane. 26. ,-i. A mass meeting, called by tbo Fodf jsration of Labour, held in the Opera House fast night, was largely attended.

Speeches were delivered by Messrs II Semple and P. C. Webb on the A\ aihi and Reef lon disputes. The following resolution was passed:—“ln connection with the Waihi Strike it is the opinion of the meetin" that the interpretation of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act by the Crown Law officers is contrary to the intention of the legislature and altogether against the interests of the workers, in view of the fact that it brings about compulsory arbitration, and wo are, further of opinion that the men are justified in resisting the introduction of the single handed popper and they have our utmost sympahty in their lock-out.”

The Court intimated that if it wished to hoar counsel for the Guild in reply to the points made by 1 lie Ciowii, it would notify him. In the meantime discussion was reserved.
