FOOTBALL AFFAIRS
(To the Editor i
Sir.—Would you allow mo space in ymn paper to complain of tho way in which the delegates appointed hy tho various Clubs in the Westland SubLnion are attending to their duties. .Ai the last two weekly meetings of the Executive there has not been a quorum present and, therefore, no business could bo done. Last Wednesday evening the delegates from tho Kiwi Club, myself, and the secretary were present, while to-night only tho secretary and myself again turned up Is it any wonder that it is being said that football is in the down giado in this district, when those appointed to attend to these duties, ewn when they are Jiving in town, do ■' rot think it worth while to attend? I think it is lime the clubs in their own interests, recognised that it their present delegate)* have not tie necessary time to give to their club’s affairs, that they should at one. appoint representatives who will attend tho meetings. For tho information of the clubs concerned I may state that I have this evening given notice of motion: “That the rule in the Unions books in reference to the number of delegates required to form a quorum bo rescinded, and that any business may ho transacted by not less than two delegates.” Thanking you in anticipation. I am, etc., If. IIEARX. Hokitika, June 20th, 1912.
