A STAFFORD ENTERTAINMENT.
The entertainment in aid of the tuncta of the Stafford Literary Inst.tute was held on Wednesday, bat owing to the very wet night, there wa* only a fair attendance. The weather also prevented a number of tha performers from being present, but notwithstanding this, a lengthy and excellent programme was given, each item being appreciated by ihe andience.

Himpson; laughing *oig, Mr J.Foster; solo, "Don't forget old Ireland," Mis 9 Copley; song, "Powder Monkey," Mr Copley, (encored) ; solo with Tiolin obligato, Miss Duff; hornpipe Mr F. The music, which was excellent, was supplied by Miss Heron (pi mo), and Mr 0. Gibbons (flutt), while Mr B. Turner acted as M.C.
