Messrs Hall and Valentine's Entertainers open at the Princess Theatre this evening, when they should be greeted by a crowded house. The cricket match at Arahura on Saturday afternoon between the local and Hokitika clubs was drawn, but the visitors bad decidedly the best of the game, scoring 114 in their innings against the home team's 31 for six wickets. The weather was very unfavourable, being showery and windy, and necessitated several stoppages of play. Three of the Hokitika batsmen retired, while two did not go in to bat-, the innings being, declared' closed. For Hokitika Low played an excellent innings, retiring after making 42 ; M'Corkindale also made a good stand, puttting on 22 ; Malfroy, who retired, and Sherman, each with 12, were the other double-figure scorers.- Muir (9) and I Tainni (8) were the "most successful of the Axahura batsmen.
