A TRIBUTE TO THE PREMIER.

Dunedin Oct 28 In a sympathetic leader on the Premiers return, the Star says :— We cordially join in congratulating Mr Seddon on his safe return to the colony, and wish him health usefulness aud happiness during his future career, here or elsewhere. If he remains a promineuc figure in New Zealand politics, it will probably fall to our lot (as in the past) to criticise him with some severity, now and again, for we do not expect to find him more faultless than of old. Be this as it may, however, we shaU never forget, and the people of New Zealand are not likely to forget thfi great Imperial service which he has rendered during the last three years, and which will probably constitute his fairest and most abiding fame.
