The entries of stock at Addington today were but medium all round and there was but a small attendance.

Pat Cattle— For 143 fat cattle the sale was somewhab irregular. Prices were low comparatively at the start, but recovered under competition, and good beef re-ached last week's range, with a slight improvement in some casaa, the prices per 1001 b running from 28s to 375, with probably a f ow instances in which 40s was touched. Per head, steers ran from £9 to £13 15f, extra to i£ls, heifers £5 15s 60 £8 12a 6d, cows £5 10s to £10 10a, extra £13 12s (id. Store and Dairy Cattle — There was only a small entry of store and dairy cattle which sold as follows : Yearling stores £1 9s to £1 10 a; 15 to 18 months old cattle £2 4s to £2 17a 6d; 2 year old steers, £3 6s to £3 15s ; 2 year old heifers £3 ' 33 6d to £3 15s; 3 year old heifers £4 15s; dry cows £1 10s to £4 15s. Dairy cows brought from £4 to £8 15s. Fat Sheep. — There was a medtum yarding 'of fat sheep of which a few were good lines of cross bred ewes and wethers and there were also several commendable lines of merino sheep. Prices were up to last week's and may be quoted : Prime freezing wethers 20s to 23s 3d, medium 17s 6d to 193 6d, light and unfinished 163 to 17s, hoggets 14s to 19s 6d, shorn wethers 15a 3d to 17s 3d, merino wethers 17& to 235, heavy crossbred ewes 20s to 24s 4d medium 17s to 19s 6d, others 14s to 10s 6d, shorn ewes 18s lid to 12s 4d, rne-ino ewes 17s. Fat Lambs— There were 160 fat lambs in the market, mostly of good quality. These were all bought by the butchers at 14s 5d to 16s 9d for best and 12s to 14s for medium. Store Sheep. — Store sheep were a small entry, only 1073 coming forward. Of these the bulk were ewes and lamb?, for which there was a fair demaud, prices being as follow: — 157 ewes and lambs 8s 9d, 69 at 8s 9d, 36 at 9s 9d, 87 at 6s lOd, 83 at 5s lOd, 87 at 5s 3d, a few wethers at L4s 6d, 53 hoggeis at 10s 4d 176 hoggets at 9s Id 90 at ss. Pigs. — Piga were a fairly large entry. A demand for fats and stores by outside buyers causied a sharp rise in values, and as a number of smaller porkers were taken by these buyers for store 3 was dearer.
