LITTLE BARRIER ISLAND
[Per United Press Association.] Auckland, July 16. Tenetahi, of Little Barrier Island fame, was the subject of an application in Chambers of the Supreme Court before Justice Connolly. Mr Cuddle moved in Russell and Campbell, solicitors, v. Tenetahi. His Honor said there was an absolute charging order against Tenetahi's estate in connection with certain liabilities incurred by that native in the course of litigation. The amount concerned is £59 which was paid into Court by the Public Trustee, who still holds about £240 belonging to Tenetahi, beiug money paid over by Government to Tenetahi as his final share of purchase money in connection with the acquisition of Little Barrier Island as a reserve for native birds. Tenetahi has refused to be left .this money as he considers Government have not paid him an adequate sum for his share of the island. His Honor made the*order absolute as prayed. The costs of the proceedings to be paid out of the funds in the hands of the Public Trustee.
