NOTES FROM THE WAIHO.

[From a Correspondent.] [ The big sluicing claim is the topic of the day. The survey party have nearly completed their survey with great results. I hear they have got a fall of about one i hundred feet, which means a great boon to the Company. A digger the other day washed up after a few days sluicing and got nearly two ounces of very nice looking <jold, this was on the borders of the big sluicing claim. It looks very rosy for the shareholders. Green Brothers are turning out some nice looking gold in their claim. The M'Fetrich Brothers are still pegging away in search of an inner lead. They deserve great praise for the energetic way they have stuck to ,it. The other claims are all doing a little, so we have nothing to grumble at in this quarter. I see they are busy shearing on Messrs Patrick and Green's station. They have had a fair average of lambs so I think they can congratulate themselves on having a very fair season. Mrs Batson here is the first lady to live this end of the Waiho. Mr Batson has built a very nice house near the hot springs for the accommodation of invalids and tourists visiting the Waiho. They deserve every success in their bold undertaking. It has been a lon-; felt want for years past, so I hope to see many take the advantage of visiting these splendid scenes. Waiho, Nov. 26.
