A speoisl mcc ing of the New Zealand Eugby Union was held this afternoon and it waa decided to send a New Zealand Union team to Australia early next season playing in Queensland and New South Wales. It was also deoided to postpone the English tour nntil 1894 The date of the Australian tour was held over until further information baa been received from Sydney within tbe next few weeks. The Mew South Wales Union desire the viiit in July, Queen»land suggesting August and probably oneor the other of these months will be adopted. The feeling ol some delegates was that the trip should be made as early in tbe season as possible on account of tbe heat, while on tbe oiher hand it was held that it would be better to have it late in tbe seaßon to give new men a chance of coming on and not having the choice restricted to tbe last season's reputation. Letters received by Mr Habea from Eugland, America and Australia were most cordial and tbe whole expenses of the team for Australia are guaranteed. It waa decided that the team shall play against tbe local team at the final port ot departure, this to be either Wellington or Auckland, which ever match is likely to contribute the most towards the preliminary expenses. 0. T. Palliser, of the AgentftGeneral'a Office, London, was appointed to represent the New Zealand Union on the English Union. The meeting expressed themselves extremely gratlOed at tbe strong hold obtained by the Zealand Union and the high este-m in which it was held by the affiliated Unions as evidenced by letters received from them and the loyalty with which the decisions were accepted and supported.
