Large returns are being obtained from sluicing claims, and reefs with splendid prospects are being opened at Cedar Creek, Donnelly's, and Taipo. The prospects of the William Tell claim are very good ; tbe machinery is now in course of erecion, and the claims adjoining are petting good pro.'pects. Machinery is also being erected at the Taipo. The Mont 'd Or sluicing claim is paying large monthly dividend?, and there are many other valuable claims in tbe Boss district. Old Kumara still retains its good reputation.
