A fire broke out in Pitt street this morning, in the premises of Mr Gordon, grocer, by the upsetting of a kerosene lamp. The shop was gutted, and Cox's stock is damaged next door, also shop adjacent The block was insured by the owner in the South British for £1000— Gordon £150 on stock, £75 on furniture — Cox's stock is insured for £500.
