BOROUGH OF HOKITIKA. 1 1 THE following By-law was adopted at -*■ a Special Meeting of the Borough Council, held on 4th January, 1878. The Council of the Borough of Hokitika, in pursuance of Section 323 of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," ordain as follows : — 1. That the sum of £5 5s shall he paid into the hands of the Town Clerk as the fee for all Licenses, which may be issued to the owner or occupier of any public building or enclosure within the Borough, used for Public Meetings, Assembly Rooms, Theatre, Music or Dancing Hall, or any public performance or amusement whatever ; such License to expire on the 31st December in ' each year. Public Works Office, Wellington, 9th January, 1878. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at the District Engineer's Office, Hokitika, up to 5 p.m. on MONDAY, 4th February, 1878, for the Construction of the above sections of the Bowen-Okarito Road (North End). They must be marked " Tender for Section No. Bowen-Okarito Road, (North 2ud>" on outside of envelope. Separate tenders must be sent in for each section, but contractors may scud in as many tpnders for different sections as they think proper. Plans and ppecifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices Hokitika and Greymouth, and at the Court House, Ross. Each tender must be sent in with a properly filled-in schedule, and on the printed form which will be supplied ou application. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
