M.P. WANTS HOSPITAL BOARDS AMENDMENT BILL BROUGHT BACK
PARLIAMENT BLDGS, Yesterday (PA).—ln the House of Representatives today, Mr. McCombs (Opp., Lyttelton) gave notice to ask the Minister of Health if he would advise the Gov-ernor-General to return the Hospital Amendment Bill to the House under Section 56 of the Constitution Act, with a recommendation that Clause 4 be deleted, “becauee the decision of the electors at the recent polls removed the causes for the legislation and it is no longer necessary.” The clause authorised hospital boards to delegate powers to committees which may take certain decisions without reporting back to the board.
