North Island Again Exceeds Its Power Allocation

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— The North Island exceeded its power allocation by 10 per cent, last week, stated the General Manager of the State Hydro-Electric Department (Mr. A. E. Davenport) in his weekly report issued today. The South Island was 3.85 per cent, above its allocation. "There was a further improvement in the storage at Lake Taupo, but so far no advantage has been derived from lhe present unsettled conditions," he said. The Mangahao dams were almost empty and the Waikaremoana level, despite the rainfall of 3.43 inches for the week, had fallen .2 of a foot.
