India Will Not Allow Anyone To Cross McMahon Line

NEW DELHI, Nov. 20 (Recd. 11.59 pm).—Pandit Nehru told the Indian Parliament today that the McMahon Line, which fixed the boundary between India and Tibet following the Simla Convention in 1914, "is our boundary, map or no map, and we won't allow anyone to cross it.” Nehru was replying to questions whether India had any well-defined boundary with Tibet. Nehru said India would defend its claim to the northern frontiers as shown on official Indian maps regardless of any Chinese Communist attempt to claim territory within this area.
