WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA) Wellington soon put the Nunneley Casket tennis issue beyond doubt against Taranaki-Wanganui on Saturday when play was transferred from Central Park to the sawdust courts al Island Bay Club because of Friday night’s Iftavy rain. The match finished 10 rubbers to two, Miss J. Burke and Mrs I. Rout scoring WanganuiTaranaki’s two wins against Mrs D. McGregor and Miss B. Meyer respectively. In the following results Wellington names are first: Miss B. Meyer lost to Mrs I. Rout, 4-6, 4-6: Miss A. Walker beat Miss K. O’Sullivan. 6-2, 6-3; Mrs A. Quelch beat Miss F. Jones, 6-0. 6-4; Mrs D. McGregor lost to Miss J. Burlve, 3-6. 2-6; Mrs McGregor and Miss Meyer beat Mrs Rout and Miss Jones, 6-4, 6-2; Mrs Quelch and Miss Walker beat Misses Burke and O’Sullivan, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. Wellington 10 rubbers; Wanganui-Taranaki 2 rubbers.
