Cardinal Mindszenty Has Lost Completely Speech And Memory
VATICAN CITY, Nov. 18 (Recd. 6 pm).—The Vatican stated todaj that Cardinal Mindszenty, the imprisoned Hungarian primate, has completely lost his speech and memory. It added that Mindszenty’s illness had reached “alarming proportions. • Mindszenty has been visited in a Budapest clinic by three Russian specialists sent on Stalin's orders. The cardinal is being partly fed by hypodermic injections. The report said the Hungarian Government is believed to be trying to find some methods of “controlled liberation” for the cardinal to avoid the rick of his dying a martyr in prison.
