No Change In Levels Set On First Day Of Wool Sale

The record-shattering levels set on the first day were not bettered when the Wanganui wool sale was concluded on Saturday morning. Two catalogues, totalling 7460 bales, were disposed of, making the dispersal for the whole sale, in addition to 5234 bales of Joint Organisation wool, 25,613 bales. Finer wools did not show the same proportionate advance as stronger types. There was no alteration to the official range of prices covering the first day of the sale. Top price on the first day was 1283 d for a line of Corriedale wool, but on Saturday bidding reached only 120 d. This was the price paid for nine bales of "A.A.” Southdown. The official report was the same as that published on Saturday.
