Shin Deserter Fined
When he appeared before Mr. S. S. Preston. S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court, Wanganui, yesterday, Michael John Joseph Thomas, seaman and labourer, aged 20, admitted a charge of deserting from the liner Ceramic at Wellington on July 27, last, lie was fined £25. with costs 10s and was ordered to pay solicitor’s fee £1 Is. Sergeant L. Nicol prosecuted and Mr R. G- Palmer appeared for the owners of the Ceramic, the Shaw, Savill anc Albion Co., Ltd.
