We Are Living In Strenuous Days Says The Prime Minister
WELLINGTON. Last Night (PA). We are living in strenuous day < the Prime Minister (Mr. Holland) told today's meeting of Ihe Dominion Council of the National Party. Mr. Holland said that tn the past fortnight the dispute on the waterfront had necessarily claimed much of his attention. Yesterday, after proclaiming a state of emergency the previous day, it had been necessary for him ipi fly to Rotorua to pay his respects at the funeral of Bishop Bennett. At 5 p.m., he said, he was in his seat in Parliament. There was a caucus at 5.30 p.m. and in the evening mother s'tting of ihe House, said Mr. Holland. The follo'ring members of the Council were elected to Dominion Executive: The Hon. Mrs. F. E. Burrell, M.L.C. (Christchurch). Doctor R. G. McElroy and J. W. Hyland (Auckland). Mr. P. J. Wall (Wellington), the Hor. F Kelly. M.L.C. (Hastings), and the Hon. H. G. Livingstone, M.L.C. (Christchurch).
