Party Of British Women To Visit Russia At Russia’s Request

LONDON, Sept 22 (Recd 6 pm). — In response to an invitation by the Soviet Women’s anti-Fascist League, a party of 14 British women is to leave London today to spend three weeks studying Russian conditions in Moscow and other parts of the Soviet Union.

Members of the party have been chosen by the British Soviet Friendship Society. They include Miss Muriel Could, assistant secretary of the Civil Service Clerical Association, Mrs Freda Gamble, secretary of the National Society of Children’s Nurseries, Doctor Norah Johns, Labour candidate for Kingston at the last general election, Miss Iris Morley, novelist, Mrs. L. Stein, Edinburgh University lecturer, Mrs T. Knowlton, a Southampton housewife and Mrs Rose Wasmer, a Whitehall charwoman.
