MORE THAN 700 FACTORIES IN WANGANUI

WELLINGTON, Last Night (OC).— Wanganui has an estimated male labour force of 17,800, according 1o the annual report for year ended March 31 of the Department of Labour and Emplcyrnent presented to Parliament today the Minister of Labour (Mr Sullivan). The report states that the 711 registered fact tries in Wanganui employed 4730 male and female workers (including working occupiers) during the year and four of those factories each employed more than 100 hands.
