DEATH OF PIONEER IN 101ST. YEAR
WELLINGTON, Last. Night (PA).— A pioneer of New Zealand in the true sense of the word, Mr. Alexander Stevenson, died at the Silverstream Hospital today in his 101st. year. He arrived in New Zealand about 1876 and took up work as a ploughman in the Lawrence district of the South Island. In later years, he was a pioneer settler and farmer in the Ruahine district of the North Island. He was a foundation member of the Rangiwahia-R.ua--hine Co-operative Dairy Company.
Mr. Stevenson, who had twice married, is survived by one son and three daughters.
