Two Good Full-Backs Brighten Rugby Game At Christchurch

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (PA) —Canterbury drew nine-all with South Canterbury in an uninspiring representative Rugby match at Lancaster Park on Saturday. The game was played on a very fast ground with a high north-west wind and handling errors on both sides were frequent. In the first spell K. Stuart kicked an easy penalty goal for Canterbury. In the second spell J. Goddard kicked a penalty to level the scores. J. Houghton and L. Savage scored tries to give Canterbury a lead of six points. Near the end Goddard kicked another penalty goal and Taylor scored a good try. Only fine displays by the two full-backs, J. Goddard and Stuart, saved the game from being completely dull.
