No Proposal To Photograph All N.Z. Civil Servants
PARLIAMENT BLDGS, Last Night (PA).—The Prime Minister, Mr. Holland, told the House of Representatives today that he had not heard of any proposal that all civil servants should be individually photographed, and if any such proposal came before him it would be stopped immediately. Mr. Holland was giving an immediate reply to a notice of a question by Mr. Jones (Opp., St. Kilda), who had asked the Prime Minister if the Government had made arrangements for each civil servant to be photographed, and, if so, what was the reason for such action. “It has been stated that those employed in the Land and Income Tax Department, Dunedin, have been individually photographed,” said Mr. Jones. “My only reason for asking permission to answer this question immediately is to correct a very false impression that might be created by the suggestion it contains,” said Mr. Holland. in denying all knowledge of the matter.
