GATE-TAKINGS AT SPRIGGENS PARK ARE DOWN

Gate takings at Spriggens Park for the first four Saturdays of the Wanganui Rugby Union’s senior competition have realised £286 11s 6d. For the corresponding period last season gate takings amounted to £3lO 15s 3d. Although gate takings for this season are about £4O down on last year’s figures, the secretarytreasurer (Mr C. S. Swan) said that as the competition had reached an interesting stage the prospects of increased gates were good. Gate takings for the first four Saturdays of this season (with those for last season in parentheses) were: £7l (£66), £64 (£7l), £6O (£Bl\ £B9 (£92). Last season there was a decline in takings from the fifth gamd onwards.
