TWO JET AIRCRAFT COLLIDE IN MID-AIR: BOTH PILOTS KILLED

NEW YORK, March 22 (Reed. 11.10 pm).—Both pilots were killed when two jet aircraft collided in the clouds shoftly after taking off from an airport at Charleston, West Virginia, today. The airport control tower reported hearing a radio conversation as the pilots flew at an estimated 600 miles an hour. "Where are you’?’ "I am right on top of you.’’ “Be careful And don’t get too close.” Nothing more was heard from the pilots. One aircraft crashed 50 yards frosr, a house and fragments of the aircraft were driven through the wall. The other plane hit a power line, causing a black-out over a 10-mile area.
