Record Price Of £55 A Bale For Southland Wool

INVERCARGILL, Last Night (PA). —The received average price of £55 Os 6d was received for the third Southland wool sale held on February 27. The gross return for the 30,094 bales sold was £1,655,970 16s 5d and the average price a pound was 38.51 d. Compared with the second sale in January, the price a bale was up by £1 Is 6d but the average price a pound was down by about a halfpenny.
