WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— The net profit of New Zealand Breweries Ltd. for the year ended March 31, 1949, after placing £5OOO to insurance reserve, was £l4o,9Bl—the lowest figure since 1946. The net profit in 1948 was £161,113. As previously announced, the dividend, which was 10 per cent, in 1947 and 1948, is reduced to 8i per cent.—the same rate as was paid in 1946. This absorbs £139,006, against £163,538 the previous year. The carry-forward is £36,709, against £34,734, brought in. The gross profit was £941,794, against £954,064, and expenses were £800,813, against £792,951.
