Veteran Taxis To Be Vetted

LONDON, Jan. 17 (Reed. 12.40 pm).—London’s vintage taxis—those which were registered for the first time before 1931—will undergo a special police inspection and those which are not perfectly fit for use will be condemned. There are about 50 taxis which have plied Londons’ streets for more than 20 years. Many of them have travelled over half a mi'lion miles.
